USA Triathlon owns and operates the annual Collegiate National Championship. In 2007 and 2008 the national championship will be contested at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

2006 Collegiate Nationals Results
The 2006 national championship was held in conjunction with the College Sports Television (CSTV) National Championship Festival, which hosted 6 national championships in one weekend. Reno, Nevada was the location for over 800 athletes braving the cooler temperatures to become the USA Triathlon National Collegiate Champion. The University of Montana took top team honors by placing first in the women’s division and second in the men’s division.

The point system for the national championship is modeled after cross country scoring, so the lowest score wins. Each team seeds their top three men and top three women to compete for the overall team score.
