Teams

 
The USA Triathlon National Teams Program identifies and supports talented athletes at all stages of their development. Athletes that have proven potential to compete begin development as Juniors (ages 16 to 19) and can move up through the athlete development pipeline with a stream of continual support and education from USA Triathlon.

Elite National Team

The Elite National Team is made up of elite/pro triathletes and divided into three levels - gold, silver, and bronze. Criteria and amount of support varies year to year depending on what is proposed by the National Teams Program and approved by the United States Olympic Committee and the USAT Board of Directors. The athletes on the Elite National Team are some of the best triathletes in the world.  Read More READ MORE

Elite Development

The primary objective of the Elite Development Squad is to provide a coaching, educational, administrative, and financial support structure for those athletes that have been identified as future Olympic prospects, but who are too old for the Junior National Squad, and not quite ready for World Cup competitions. This squad replaces the former Under 23 National Squad and is expanded to support the development of those elite athletes who are older than 23 years old as well.  Read More READ MORE

Junior

The primary objective of the Junior National Squad is to provide a coaching, educational, administrative, and financial support structure to select athletes with a high likelihood for success at international competitions, in order to help them achieve optimal performance at the ITU World Championships and other international-caliber junior races, while developing the requisite skills and experience for long-term success as Elite triathletes.  Read More READ MORE

Team USA

Team USA was created by USA Triathlon to be a team of age group/amateurs who will best represent the United States and compete in the International Triathlon Union’s (ITU) world championships, which attracts the best athletes representing over 50 countries each year.  Read More READ MORE

PC Team

USA Triathlon was the first National Governing Body to fully integrate the disabled into their organizational, regulatory and competitive structures.
