Run Conduct - Knowledge of the Course
This week’s rule is Article 6.2 — Knowledge of the Course.
The rule places responsibility on the participant to know and follow the run course. It is important for each competitor to be aware of this and to have a clear idea of the route and all the turns. Even if improperly directed off course by a monitor, the participant is still responsible and will have no recourse if penalized.
The penalty for not following the course could be a time or disqualification, depending on how much advantage was gained by taking a different route.
Here’s the rule:
6.2. Knowledge of the Course.
The responsibility of knowing and following the prescribed course rests with each participant.
