Board of Directors

USA Triathlon is governed by the Board of Directors, which has general charge of the business affairs and activities of the organization and defines the policies to be followed in carrying out the purposes of the organization as set down in the bylaws. All members of the Board must be current annual USA Triathlon members.

The Board of Directors shall have eleven (11) members; three (3) Directors shall be Athlete Directors and the remaining eight (8) General Directors shall be selected from each of the following regions: Florida, Mid Atlantic, Mideast, Northeast, Southeast, South Midwest, Southwest and Midwest/Rocky Mountain/Pacific.

The officers of USA Triathlon shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary-General and Treasurer and are elected from the members of the Board of Directors at the first regular meeting each calendar year.

The President shall be the chief officer of USA Triathlon and shall preside at all meetings of the members, the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee. He/she shall be an ex officio, non-voting member of all standing and other committees.

The Vice President shall perform the duties of the President if absent or unable to act and shall discharge such other duties as may be assigned by the President or by vote of the Board of Directors.

The Secretary shall supervise the taking, making and distribution of the minutes of the meeting of the members, the Board of Directors meetings and the Executive Committee meetings.

The Treasurer shall have charge of the funds and financial records of USA Triathlon. The treasurer shall oversee the preparation of the proposed annual budget for submission to the Board of Directors.
