What drove you to the multisport lifestyle? When I started in 1980 there were very, very few events, just saw an event and did it.
Personal: Married to Ester for 34 years, have one step-son, Normand Burroughs (Major, USAF National Guard)
Athletic Accomplishments: Six-time Ironman including four Kona finishes (best time 11:05:46 at Kona); over 250 triathlons completed; Duathlete All-American in 1992 and 1993; hold the record for USCF Time trial in TX for 60-64 (40km at 58:25); 15 marathons under three hours including a 2:43:17 in 1983.
Athletic Background: Cross-country in high school; long-distance runner in the Air Force; over 30 marathons; USAFE cross-country champion 1984 and 1985.
