Hometown: Keller, Texas
College degree: Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Stephen F. Austin University (Nacogdoches, Texas) in 2008
When did you start at USAT: October, 2009
Roles and responsibilities: I am like Gumby, always willing to be flexible to take on new tasks. I do many things here in event services. I’m often looked to for creative projects and have the most tenure of the coordinators in the department, so I carry quite a bit of sanctioning and insurance knowledge. I perform many tasks including: sanctioning, working with each of the Regional Officials Coordinators, I produce the monthly race director e-newsletter, work the @USAT_RDs Twitter account, monitor the race director google group, assist race directors with insurance inquiries, update the race director section of the website, compose the annual symposium, compile data for the resource guide, assist with all first time race directors, and other tasks as needed.
Favorite part about USAT: I enjoy working on the insurance side of things. I feel I can never learn enough of the ever changing insurance field.
What keeps you busy in your free time: I hate being bored. I love hiking, camping, biking (mountain & road), visiting breweries, snowboarding, snowshoeing, playing the guitar poorly and singing to everything.
Favorite career moment: I love being a part of the Olympic Movement, and since I was involved in cycling in college, working at USAT is a great fit for my personality, as I love staying active. I was in charge of creating the first ever virtual race director symposium, and this year I’ll be coordinating the first ever race director symposium aboard the Disney Dream with the Disney Cruise Line.
