Amateur Triathlon Career: Was the overall winner at the 2009 USA Triathlon Age Group National Championships in Tuscaloosa, Ala. • Also recorded 2009 wins at the Wilkes-Barre Triathlon, Sunset Triathlon, Killington Triathlon and Hammonton Triathlon.

Athletic Background: Was a four-year varsity swimmer at Boston College and was voted team captain for the 2007-08 Season • In high school, won 12 varsity letters in cross country, swimming, track and field and tennis and was a first-team league all-star six times • While at Boston College received the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Top-6 for Service Award in 2008 and was named the ACC All-Academic Team in 2007 and 2008.

Parents are Joe and Mary Maloy • Younger brother John Maloy also swam at Boston College, setting 11 school records • Earned a B.A. in English in 2008 from Boston College and an M.S. in administration in 2010 • Grew up lifeguarding during the summers along the Jersey Shore, so swimming and running were always a part of his life • First triathlon was the Belleplain Sprint Triathlon in 2008.
