2012 Highlights: Member of the USA Triathlon Project 2016 program • Member of the USA Triathlon Project 2016 program • Finished the year ranked as the No. 5 American and 89th overall in the ITU World Triathlon Series rankings • Took 10th at the Oct. 7 Cancun ITU World Cup • Finished eighth at the July 8 Edmonton ITU World Cup • Placed 13th at the PATCO Pan American Championships on Jan. 15.

Elite Triathlon Career: Owns three career ITU Pan American Cup podium finishes — Myrtle Beach and Kelowna in 2011 and San Francisco in 2009 • Winner of the 2011 Columbia Triathlon and recorded fourth-place finish at the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon, Life Time Fitness Triathlon and Chicago Triathlon • Placed ninth at USA Triathlon Elite Nationals in 2009.

Amateur Triathlon Career: Ironman 70.3 age group world champion in 2008 • Finished as the first amateur at Ironman 70.3 Florida, took first at the 2008 USA Triathlon Club National Championship and was the second amateur at the 2008 New York City Triathlon.

Athletic Background: Swam for two years at the University of Maryland and was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll • Also was a member of the Magnificat High School swim team.

 

Parents are Joe and Ruth Jerdonek • Graduated from the University of Maryland in 2006 with a B.S. in finance • First triathlon was a youth sprint triathlon in Cleveland • Competed in a few sprint triathlons with friends after graduating college • While working in Washington D.C., the DC Tri Club helped her establish a network of training buddies.
