Elite Mentorship Program

The USA Triathlon Coaching Education department offers an Elite Coaching Mentorship Program to further develop the pool of talented and experienced coaches who will identify and develop future Olympic triathlon champions. This program gives qualified USAT certified coaches the opportunity to learn directly from USAT Resident coaching staff and High Performance coaches and to gain practical coaching and management experience at the United States Olympic Training Center.

USAT Certified Coaches who are selected for the Elite Coaching Mentorship Program and complete the three day program are awarded 15 USAT CEUs upon completion of a program survey. Coaches gain valuable experience in coaching that is required for the LIII certification.

In order to be considered for the Elite Coaching Mentorship Program, coaches must complete an application, attach a coaching resume, and provide a one page statement on why they would like to participate in the Elite Coaching Mentorship Program. Being selected does not require a coach to participate. The fee to participate in this program is $495.

Priority for this program is given to USAT certified coaches in the following order:

1. Current coach of  an athlete on the Elite National Team
2. Current coachof an athlete on the Project 2012, 2016 or 2020 program
3. Current coachor assistant coach of a USAT High Performance Team
4. Current USAT Regional Athlete Development Coordinator
5. Current coach of an Elite ITU Athlete
6. Level III coach
7. Level II coach
8. Level I coach
