Qualification 2013

Team USA Eligibility

All athletes eligible to represent the United States must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen OR
  • Be a U.S. national – someone who has resided in the US for three consecutive years and has not competed for their country of citizenship in the prior year.

Team USA eligible athletes must not have competed for their country of citizenship in the prior year. Athletes who choose to be recognized as nationals who have competed for their country of citizenship in the last year may get dispensation by obtaining a letter from the National Federation of their home country allowing competition as a USA athlete.

    Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
    Qualification: Top 20 in each age group rolling down to 25th place after applying the age-up rule

2013 ITU Cross Triathlon (Off-Road) World Championship

Location: Den Haag, Netherlands
Date: July 13, 2013

Qualifying

  1. Last year’s cross team that competed in Birmingham will auto qualify
  2. The top 33% in each age group of those who competed in the XTERRA Nationals held in Utah 
  3. The top 33% of those competing in 2013 XTERRA Henderson 
  4. Any US athlete finishing in the top 15 in their AG in the 2012 Maui XTERRA Worlds will automatically qualify

2013 Standard Course Duathlon World Championships

Location: Ottawa, Canada
Date: August 10-11, 2013

Qualification

  • Double Oak Duathlon (Standard Distance: 10k Run, 40k Bike, 5k Run)
    April 6, 2013
    Pelham, Alabama
    Qualification: The top six finishers in each age group (rolling to 10th place) in the standard event will qualify for Team USA for the Short Course Duathlon World Championship
                  
  • Orange County Duathlon (Standard Distance: 2k Run, 40k Bike, 10k Run)
    May 19, 2013
    Mission Viejo, California
    Qualification: The top six finishers in each age group (rolling to 20th place) will qualify for Team USA in their choice of race distance — standard or sprint. Six athletes per age group will accepted for the standard-distance event and six athletes per age group will be accepted for the sprint-distance event.
    Note:     Transition is limited to 300 athletes. Register now at www.octriseries.com to claim your spot to attempt to qualify for the World Championships.
     
  • Apple Duathlon (Standard Distance: 5k Run, 33k Bike, 5k Run)
    May 25, 2013
    Sartell, Minnesota
    Qualification: The top six finishers in each age group (rolling to 20th place) will qualify for Team USA in their choice of race distance — standard or sprint. Six athletes per age group will accepted for the standard-distance event and six athletes per age group will be accepted for the sprint-distance event.
