The first annual Southwest Region Collegiate Training Camp is the perfect place to enhance your triathlon skills under the supervision of an expert coaching staff. Athletes will receive one-on-one sport-specific instruction, as well as lessons in goal setting, the art of balancing school and triathlon training, nutrition (race day and daily) and race strategy for competition. Emphasis will be placed on developing good bike handling skills and road safety, open water specific swim skills, correct running form, transition skills for efficiency and speed as well as many other multisport related skills. Athletes will enjoy getting to know peers who share a similar interest and passion for the sport of triathlon. This camp is open to all levels of interested college age triathletes. Each athlete will be evaluated and placed in an appropriate experience group. Each athlete will need to bring a bicycle and helmet. A road or TT bike is recommended, but not required. Each athlete is required to be able to swim 200 yards (open water) comfortably, cycle for 60 minutes, and be able to run for 15 minutes. Each athlete will need a wetsuit to swim in the lake.
Fee for the camp includes meals (Friday dinner, Sat 3 meals, Sunday 2 meals) and coaching sessions.
It does not include transportation or lodging. Lodging and camping are available on-site.
