Ran a sanctioned race and given no timejQuery16206892186132455647_1349560189675

I particpated in a Duathlon this morning that was USAT sanctioned.  I was given no time?  Several athletes had no time and had to stand in line to give someone their time.  They had told them what place they came in or they were a minute behind this person or so on.  I've ran a few 5k's but have never had this happen before.  So I didn't know what time I came across the line so I couldn't give a time for them to enter one.  Does this normally happen?  It's pretty disappointing since I was really looking forward to knowing my times and how I placed in my age group.  I heard the chip make a beeping noise when crossing through the transition area and I ran the correct route.  Obviously it was something on the timing end since I wasn't the only one.  Has this happened to anyone before or is this common?  Thanks guys!
