Webinar: Exercise Addiction Part 2 Recovery And Racing Are Not Mutually Exclusive
Topic: Exercise Addiction Part 2: Recovery and Racing are not Mutually Exclusive
Presenter: Abby Ruby
Exercise is almost always celebrated as a healthy endeavor, but there is a relatively common and largely unseen dark side to being a devoted athlete. Exercise addiction – or the inability to rest, recover and balance exercise with other life demands – wreaks havoc both with an athlete's physical performance and with his or her quality of life.
As a follow up to her previous “Exercise Addiction” webinar, Abby Ruby will educate athletes and coaches with the newest research to address warning signs of exercise addiction. This webinar will equip coaches with the tools necessary to evaluate the psychological parameters to identify exercise addiction using multiple recognized scales in the DSM-IV-R.
Dr. Ruby earned her Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. She is a Senior Coach for Carmichael Training Systems and a USA Triathlon Level II Coach. She is NATA-BOC certified athletic trainer as well as a CISSN Sport Nutritionist and a RYT Certified Yoga Instructor.
