TORNADO RELIEF BOOK DRIVE
The people of Tuscaloosa, Alabama lost everything after the devastating tornado that ripped through their city on April 27, 2011. This has been a major setback for their community and they are working everyday to rebuild. People outside their community do not always understand the recoil effects of a natural disaster like this. Tuscaloosa had two schools that were severely damaged and two that were completely destroyed. School officials do not expect for these schools to re-open for another two years. Many of the books that these students would learn with on a daily basis were ruined. This year USAT would like to ask athletes to work together to help fill Tuscaloosa’s school libraries. For more information CLICK HERE. We are asking that all teams participate in some fashion whether it be big or small. This is a great opportunity for the athletes to give back to a community in need, but this is also a great way to thank the community of Tuscaloosa for providing an awesome race venue.
