Duathlon National Championship
The USA Triathlon 2012 Duathlon National Championship will be held in Tucson/Oro Valley, Arizona, on April 28, 2012.
The USAT Duathlon National Championship is presented by TriSports.com
2012 will offer another chance for competitors to race at the largest duathlon west of the Mississippi.
Transition will be located at Ventana Medical Systems in Oro Valley.
The race distances for the 2012 Duathlon National Championship will be as follows:
Standard Distance: 5k run, 35k bike, 5k run
Sprint Distance: 2.5k run, 17.5k bike, 2.5k run
The Duathlon National Championship features a paraduathlon wave. The paraduathlon wave serves as the Paraduathlon National Championship.
This year USA Triathlon will introduce a Sprint distance. There will be a Sprint open wave geared toward beginner duathletes. This is a chance for athletes to test the sport in a friendly environment without having to be intimidated by superior athletes. Athletes competing in the open division will not be eligible for national championship titles or awards.
NO ELITE WAVE
In 2012 there will NOT be an Elite Duathlon wave. The 2012 Duathlon National Championship will be in Pelham, Alabama on March 24, 2012.
