USA Triathlon is excited to host our family of race directors at our home in Colorado Springs for the 2013 Race Director Symposium.

Don't Miss out!  One attendee will be selected to win free sanctioning for 2013 (up to five events).  You must attend Symposium to be eligible.

***This offer is only redeemable by the race director selected who shall be stated as the primary race director on the sanction application for events sanctioned in 2013.  This offer can only be used for the sanction fee and the application must be submitted 60+ days prior to the event date.  No refunds will be given if the event is cancelled and the offer will not roll over to the next year if it is not used to its entirety in 2013.

Symposium is a great opportunity for race directors to meet and network with peers across the country, engage with the USA Triathlon staff, speak one-on-one with the risk management team from ESIX, and become informed on various issues and trends facing the multisport industry.

The 2013 Symposium will included presentations focused on crisis management, business development, legal establishment of your race organization, sponsor value opportunities, building local relationships, and awareness of risk involved with insurance coverage purchased for non-sanctioned events.

Scheduled is a State of the Sport report presented by USA Triathlon CEO Rob Urbach, Medical Panel findings presented by Dr. Larry Creswell, a hands-on safety plan development workshop and more networking opportunities with USAT staff, fellow attendees and expo vendors.  The Race Director Committee, the Paratriathlon Committee, the Commissioner of Officials and the Regional Officials Coordinators will also be in attendance.

Mike Price and the ESIX team will be available throughout the weekend for one-on-one sessions to address the needs of your business.  Please contact eventservices@usatriathlon.org to sign up for a time.

Breakfast and lunch are included Friday and Saturday along with continuous snack and beverage breaks throughout the day.

Certified Race Directors will earn 8 CEUs for attending both days of Symposium.

Fees are stated below:

Symposium Registration Fees:

  • $495 - Symposium if registered between Oct. 1st - Nov. 30th
    $470 for second registration from same race organization
  • $575 - Symposium if registered between Dec. 1st - Dec. 31st
    $550 for second registration from same race organization
Refund Policy:
  • $150 refund if requested by Dec. 14th
  • $100 refund if requested between Dec. 15th - Jan. 4th
  • $0 refund after Jan. 4th
  • no transfers or refunds because of weather
  • registration fees are non-refundable
Symposium will be hosted at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort and discounts for room reservations can be made here.  Cheyenne Mountain Resort will be a welcoming venue for race directors as it offers everyone coming to Colorado Springs an enjoyable mountain atmosphere.

Complimentary USA Triathlon membership for Attendees
Register before 10:00 PM MT Friday, November 30th and receive a complimentary 2013 USAT membership!  This membership is valid from 1-1-13 through 12-31-13.  If you have a current USAT membership and it will expire in 2013, this offer will extend your membership until 12-31-13.  Membership cannot be activated until a complementary membership application has been completed.  The application will be emailed to you and will also be available during packet pickup on Thursday, January 17th, 2:00-5:00 PM MT.
