Topic: Stop Running Your Triathlon Business Like a Hobby - Run It Like a Business!

Triathlon is viewed by many has a hobby.  For those who have turned their triathlon passion into a business, too often they forget (or don't know how) to run their hobby as a "real" business.  Basic groundwork and principles for running a profitable triathlon-related company will be presented.  Examples of successful (and not so successful) business decisions will also be discussed.  Best practice principles learned over 15 years of business ownership will be outlined, including creating a new event, effective marketing, responsible budgeting, sponsorship activation, and how to sell a triathlon event and/or business.  This webinar will apply to many aspects of triathlon including event production, race directing, triathlon coaching, and to others who plan/hope to someday open their own triathlon business.  Although not a focus of this webinar, many of the topics will apply to retail stores.
