Pamela Bede, MS, RD, CSSD, LD
Pamela Nisevich Bede is the creative mind behind Nutrition for the Long Run, a nutrition consulting firm, and is co-owner of Swim, Bike, Run, Eat! LLC an on-line nutrition consulting firm. She is a Senior Scientist at an Abbott Nutrition, focusing on the area of premature infant nutrition, as well as a former pediatric clinical dietitian, an adjunct college instructor, and a consultant to the food industry in the areas of brand support, product development, and consumer outreach and education.
Pamela’s media outreach and participation includes nutrition expert appearances on NBC and CBS affiliates and as an author in Runner’s World, Bicycling Magazine, IDEA Fitness Journal, Today’s Dietitian, My Family Doctor, and as a nutrition expert for Runner’s World and various publications such as Outside, MORE magazine and Health.
Pamela is experienced in various clinical, commercial, and educational settings. While working with Swim, Bike, Run, Eat! LLC and Nutrition for the Long Run, Pamela has provided individual and group consultation in sports nutrition and performance, general nutrition, weight management, and wellness. With a strong educational base in both dietetics and exercise, Pamela facilitates patient and client quests for optimum health, wellness, and athletic performance. Her nutrition communications work has included extensive meal planning and menu creation, leading consumer focus groups, contributing to research and development of new products, involvement in brand marketing and support, and development of educational tools to be used with various populations.
Pamela earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Miami University and a Masters of Science in Medical Dietetics from The Ohio State University.
An elite athlete, Pamela is a former collegiate soccer player and now a competitive runner who recently finished the 2013 Boston Marathon and the Big Sur marathon. She has complete sixteen marathons, multiple half-marathons and various road races. As a triathlete, she finished the grueling Ironman Wisconsin in 2010.
