Distractions challenge our concentration and motivation stealing energy and negatively affecting one’s performance. Every athlete will face distractions during practice and/or competition but it the best athlete who is mentally prepared with a plan to refocus and motivate regardless of the distractions. Dr. Frank Sassetti, PsyD, CPT is a sport psychologist and certified personal trainer from Evanston, Illinois.
