 About Tom Henderson

Tom Henderson Developed an interest in triathlon when setting a fitness goal for himself in 1997. In training for his first sprint tri, he found a small training group who called themselves the "Mere Mortals" and were in their first year of group training. Over the years, the sport grew in the Florida Panhandle where Tom lived and trained, and he became involved in creating a local Triathlon club, Tri Gulf Coast, which took over the management of the Mere Mortals. Over the years it has grown from an informal gathering of a few people who wanted to train together. Tom became involved in the organization of the training group, and has acted as its coordinator for several years. Tri Gulf Coast has embraced the Mere Mortals training groups as an ideal way to promote the sport and welcome new athletes to our great sport.
