USA Triathlon Youth Splash and Dash
In an effort to continue to drive youth participation, USAT will enter year two of the USAT Youth Splash and Dash Aquathlon Series which will have 50 events as part of the nationwide series. We are thrilled to have one of the 50 events right here in Colorado Springs, CO hosted by USA Triathlon.
The focus of the event will be on participation, not competition. The event will not be timed. The series and this event will expose youth participants to USA Triathlon and the exciting world of multisport.
The events that are included in the series are community based and focused on getting youth involved in the multisport lifestyle. The goal is to provide a low cost event that is community driven to expose youths ages 7 to 15 to the world of multisport. We look forward to seeing you out at the event!
Registration will also be available the morning of the race from 7:30 a.m.-8:45 a.m. Registration and Check-In the morning of the event will take place behind the Memorial Park Recreation Center. There will be a USA Triathlon tent where this will occur with directional signage directing you to this area.
Mile High Youth Corps Benefit Fundraiser
In connecting with the local community, USA Triathlon has partnered with Mile High Youth Corps (MHYC) for our Colorado Springs Splash and Dash event. Proceeds will go to MHYC. To find out more about MHYC, please visit http://www.milehighyouthcorps.org/.
Mile High Youth Corps in Colorado Springs (MHYC) is devoted to the improvement and sustainable development of our two most important resources, our youth and our environment. Unique among programs in our region, we utilize young adults (called Corpsmembers) in a variety of crew-based environmental rehabilitation, habitat restoration and wildfire mitigation projects while directly employing them in full-time summer and fall positions. Although many opportunities exist for young people to become involved in conservation projects as volunteers, there is not another youth development program in the Pikes Peak Region that gives young people the advantage of earning a stipend and a scholarship while they learn valuable job and life skills.
We provide employment, education, and training to local young adults, ages 17 to 24, through environmental stewardship projects. We are an AmeriCorps affiliated program.
We would love to have you volunteer! Please use the link below to sign up for a great volunteer opportunity.
