Team USA Posts Four Top-10s At European Winter Championships

LYGNA, Norway - With third-place finisher Emma Garrard leading the way, a quartet of Americans posted top-10 showings at the 2010 ETU Winter Triathlon European Championships Saturday, Feb. 6, in their final tune-up before this weekend's ITU Winter Triathlon World Championships.
One of three U.S. women in the top nine finishers of the elite race, Garrard (Park City, Utah) made her way to the podium with a time of 1:23:10 in the run-bike-cross country ski event.
Rebecca Dussault (Gunnison, Colo.) took seventh with at 1:26:24, while Heather Best (Fairbanks, Alaska) was ninth at 1:29:20.
As the lone American the men's side, Brian Smith (Gunnison, Colo.) took eighth with a time of 1:11:35.
Team USA will be back in action for winter worlds in Eidsvoll, Norway, for the individual elite races Saturday and an elite team relay set for Sunday.
