COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Elite triathlete Lauren Goldstein-Kral was honored Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as one of 188 NCAA Division III student-athletes given All-Academic status for the previous cross country season for their efforts in the classroom and on nation's cross country courses.

Goldstein-Kral, a member of USAT's Project 2016 roster in 2009, was one of six Williams College runners to earn a spot on the team. She is a biology major and hails from Shaker Heights, Ohio.

Goldstein-Kral posted top-10 finishes at a pair of ITU Pan American Cup races in 2009, including the USAT Elite National Championship in Tuscaloosa, Ala. She also placed 12th in the U23 race at the ITU World Championship Grand Final in Gold Coast, Australia.

The USTFCCCA All-Academic award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.3 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 35 among the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.
