Brian Fleischmann and Julie Swail Ertel lead the 2008 Haul to the Great Wall Elite Race Series with three of five races complete.

The winner of the series will receive $5,000. The second and third place finishers will receive $3,000 and $2,000, respectively. In addition, Speedo is offering bonus money to U.S. athletes. If an American wins the overall series, he/she will earn $5,000. If a U.S. athlete finishes second overall in the series, he/she will receive $2,500.

Fleischmann, fresh off a win at the Musselman Triathlon, leads U.S. Olympian Matt Reed and Denmark's Rasmus Henning by nine points in the men's standings.

Ertel, who will compete for the U.S. at the Beijing Games and recently won the Musselman Triathlon, holds a commanding lead in the women's competition with 56 points. Australian Emma Snowsill is in second with 25 points and U.S. Olympian Sarah Haskins Kortuem is in third with 22.

The remaining races include: Elite Nationals on Sept. 20 in Portland, Ore., and the San Francisco Triathlon on Nov. 8. The U.S. Olympic Team Trials in April, the Hy-Vee Triathlon in June and the Musselman Triathlon (July 12) served as the first three events in the series.
