Coming to a Race Near You: The 2009 Endurance Mobile Tour

USA Triathlon annual members will want to take advantage of an innovative program that will connect them and other multisport participants with USAT's growing list of corporate partners at select events in 2009.

The 2009 Endurance Mobile Tour - developed by Endurance Sports Marketing Group of Erie, Colo. - will travel to more than 24 events in Arizona, California, Washington, Oregon and Colorado and offer a variety of activities designed to promote USAT partners and suppliers, who are some of the top companies in multisport.

The Tour will kick off at the TriFEST Expo in Tucson, Ariz., March 6-8 and wrap up at the SilverMAN Triathlon in Las Vegas, Nev., November 7-8.

"Triathlon is one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S., and we wanted to find a way to keep the momentum going and to bring new athletes into the sport," said Craig Mintzlaff of Endurance Sports Marketing Group. "With many new partners joining the USAT family, we want the clients supporting the sport to get the most out of their involvement with triathlon, and this Tour will do that."

The Mobile Tour booth set up at each event will feature lively music, triathlon videos, product sampling and demos, as well as a variety of contests and giveaways. A large part of the booth will consist of a retail outlet selling USAT logo'd merchandise, including clothes, hats, wetsuits, water bottles and many other products.

The booth will be FREE to enter, and may be used as a great meeting place before and after the race for athletes to check out the latest in running shoes from Avia, bicycles from Blue Competition Cycles, and eyewear from Rudy Project.

The first 500 athletes to come to the booth will also receive a free goodie bag and a chance to win great prizes from our many partners. Athletes will have the chance to win entries into the final event of the Tour: The SilverMAN Triathlon in Las Vegas in November. SilverMan was voted the Toughest Triathlon last year by Triathlete Magazine.

"This is a fun and exciting opportunity to introduce multisport participants to some of the leading companies in the sport," said USAT Senior Vice President for Marketing and Communications Tim Yount. "USAT has developed relationships with these companies in order to meet the needs of our members. Through this Tour, athletes will be able to interact with and learn more about our partners, sample their products, and hopefully find something that will give them an edge in their development as an athlete."

The Tour has also teamed up with the Council for Responsible Sports (ReSPORT.com) and USAT partner Athletes for a Fit Planet (afitplanet.com) to consult with them to create a GREEN expo area. The booth will have small informational signs and posters educating athletes on the environmental impact triathletes have on the environment. The Tour will also be collecting used running shoes to later be donated to the charity Soles for the Soul.

More details on the Tour will be available at the USAT website in early 2009. The website will be updated throughout the Tour with athlete testimonials, photos and videos.
