COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Held in conjunction with the upcoming Rocky Mountain State Games and hosted by USA Triathlon, one of the 30 nationwide swim-run events that comprise the inaugural USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series is headed to Colorado Springs’ Memorial Park on Sunday, July 22.
Action will begin at 9 a.m. at the Memorial Park Aquatic and Fitness Center, located at 280 South Union Boulevard in Colorado Springs. Participants ages 7-10 will cover a 100-meter swim and a 1-kilometer run, while athletes ages 11-15 will complete a 200m swim and a 2k run. Visit usatriathlon.org for complete event information.
USA Triathlon will be conducting the USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash to benefit the Waldo Canyon Fire Victim Assistance Fund. The Waldo Canyon Fire Victim Assistance Fund will establish support for the relief and recovery efforts for families and individuals affected by the Waldo Canyon Fire and for the community as a whole. More than 32,000 people were displaced, 17,000-plus acres have burned and 346 homes have been destroyed. A portion of the funds collected will go directly to the Waldo Canyon Fire Victim Assistance Fund administered by Pikes Peak United Way.

Educating youth athletes between the ages 7-15 about the multisport lifestyle is one of the primary objectives of the USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series, which is focused on participation and having fun, rather than competition.
All participants will receive a medal upon crossing the finish line and an official USA Triathlon Youth Splash & Dash Aquathlon Series T-shirt.
