USA Triathlon, TrainingPeaks Extend Silver-Level Partnership
Training software company to offer unique member discounts through 2016
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — USA Triathlon today announced it has renewed its partnership with Silver-Level Sponsor TrainingPeaks through 2016. The agreement will provide unique discounts for USA Triathlon annual members and certified coaches, as well as support for a number of the National Governing Body’s programs.
As the complete web, mobile and desktop solution for triathlon training and racing, TrainingPeaks is designated as the official training software of USA Triathlon. In this role, TrainingPeaks will continue to provide training and nutrition tracking, analysis and planning capabilities to athletes and coaches.
USA Triathlon annual members and certified clubs are eligible for a 20 percent discount on TrainingPeaks Premium Athlete Edition subscriptions, while certified coaches receive up to a 20 percent discount on TrainingPeaks Coach Edition monthly subscription fees. All USA Triathlon members can utilize complimentary TrainingPeaks Basic Athlete Edition accounts to track workouts and analyze training data.
Through this renewed agreement, TrainingPeaks will also create starter training plans for participants of USA Triathlon’s Age Group, Collegiate, Junior & Youth and Duathlon National Championships and participants of USA Triathlon Retro Series events.
Additionally, TrainingPeaks will begin providing Premium Athlete Edition subscriptions to overall winners at select USA Triathlon-owned National Championships, Athletes of the Year and National Club Challenge award winners. Athletes and coaches on select U.S. National and Development Teams will also receive the benefit of using TrainingPeaks to achieve their goals.
"Training for three sports and racing all three competitively adds a level of complexity and time demand to the already difficult lifestyle of an endurance athlete. To achieve your triathlon goals, you need a plan, you need to monitor your progress, and you need some level of analysis to see how to most wisely utilize your limited time to train,” said TrainingPeaks Co-Founder and Chief Evangelist Dirk Friel. “TrainingPeaks has been helping USA Triathlon athletes to track, analyze and plan their season since 2006. It's a system that's been proven by the elite and Olympic teams. Age-groupers at any level who are ready to commit to their own goals will benefit from bringing science and coaching to their training."
“TrainingPeaks is the leading way for a triathlete to track and analyze swim, bike and run miles, allowing our many motivated members to accomplish their multisport goals,” said Chuck Menke, USA Triathlon Marketing & Communications Director. “We are thrilled to renew this partnership and provide multisport athletes with customized, comprehensive plans to take their training and racing to the next level.”
