TISZAUJVAROS, Hungary -- USA Triathlon Collegiate Recruitment Program athlete and first-year professional Katie Hursey won Sunday's ITU World Cup for her second straight victory on the World Cup circuit.

Hursey (Hamstead, Md.) stayed with the chase pack before pulling away on the run of the 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run sprint-distance event. She finished in 1 hour, 25 seconds to defeat Aileen Reid of Ireland (1:00:52) and Sara Vilic (1:00:58), who is racing under the ITU flag. Hursey, who competed in cross country and track at Syracuse University, also won last month in Palamos, Spain.

"I'm elated," Hursey said. "To win one World Cup is pretty cool, but to win two...I'm so happy right now."

American Erin Jones (Hood River, Ore.) finished eighth in 1:01:34.

In the men's race, Tommy Zaferes (Santa Cruz, Calif.) was the top U.S. finisher in 16th.

The Tiszaujvaros event featured qualifying heats on Saturday followed by the final Sunday.
