COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Sixteen Americans will race for run-bike-run world titles on Sunday at the 2013 ITU Powerman Long Distance Duathlon World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland.

Action on the 10-kilometer run, 150-kilometer bike, 30-kilometer run course is slated to begin at 8 a.m. local time. Visit and for complete event information.

On the elite side, Ruth Brennan Morrey (Rochester, Minn.) will represent the Red, White and Blue in her first season as a professional athlete. Brennan Morrey has posted the fastest 13.1-mile run split in two IRONMAN 70.3 events this season, and as an age-grouper in 2011, she won her age group at the ITU Long Distance Triathlon World Championships.

The 15 age-groupers set to compete Sunday qualified for the world championships based on their finish at the April 28 USA Triathlon Long Course Duathlon National Championships, held in conjunction with the Mount Rainer Duathlon in Enumclaw, Wash. Among those racing in Switzerland are men’s 25-29 national champion Jeff Wilson (Copley, Ohio) and men’s 50-54 national champion John Geissinger (Austin, Texas).
