USA Triathlon Board of Directors Accepting Applications from Mid-Atlantic Region

(0 votes)

As a member of USA Triathlon, there are a number of ways you can become involved in the organization, provide leadership and make a difference in the lives of multisport athletes from around the country. One exciting opportunity available to you now is the chance to serve USA Triathlon as a member of the National Board of Directors.

After almost six years of distinguished service to USA Triathlon's National Board of Directors, Bob Wendling is resigning from his position effective Oct. 15, 2014. Wendling was appointed to represent the Mid-Atlantic Region by the Board of Directors in 2009. In 2011, he was elected to the Board by the organization's membership. During his tenure on the Board, Wendling was elected to serve as USA Triathlon President from January 2011 to April 2014 and as Treasurer for 2009 and 2010.

Any current USA Triathlon annual member in good standing from the Board's Mid-Atlantic Region, which for electoral purposes includes Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.), may apply to finish the remaining year of Wendling's term on the Board. The appointee of the Board will serve through 2014 and all of 2015, including the Board's November 2014 meeting. The seat will be up for election in the Fall of 2015 and the winner will be seated in January 2015 for a four-year term.

Interested candidates should submit a platform statement of no more than 500 words, a brief résumé and a recent headshot to Sharon Carns, USA Triathlon Sr. Governance Affairs/Human Resources Manager, at by Sept. 4, 2014.
