Wanna Paratri?
Are you interested in paratriathlon as a wheelchair athlete, but don’t have the equipment?
USAT-MA is pleased to announce a new initiative to support grassroots paratriathlon involvement in the region. The regional council has purchased an Invacare Top End Force-2 handcycle, to be loaned out to individuals in the region who may be interested in exploring paratriathlon, but have not yet committed to purchasing this piece of equipment. The handcycle is currently located in Maryland, but can be borrowed by any interested athlete in the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington DC, West Virginia, Virginia, or North Carolina. The handcycle may be borrowed for up to one month at a time, which can be extended if there is no waiting list of individuals interested in borrowing it. USAT membership and a $100 security deposit is required, along with a release of liability and terms of agreement for borrowing this handcycle. Individuals are responsible for transportation of the equipment to and from its Maryland location at the beginning and end of the borrowing period (though transport assistance may be available from supporters across the region). The handcycle will be inspected before loaning it out to someone else. Contact paratri@usat-ma.org if interested in borrowing this handcycle.
