What is the best aspect of triathlon becoming an NCAA Emerging Sport for women?
USAT Officials Clinic at Quad Cities Tri
Do you have good judgment and a sense of fair play or know a friend or family member who does? Please consider the USAT Officials program. USAT officials help bring fairness to races by enforcing the Competitive Rules of USA Triathlon. A clinic/race practicum will be held in conjunction with the Quad Cities Tri on June 18-19. Prospective officials attend an afternoon classroom session on Friday, June 18, then help officiate the race on Saturday, June 19. A take-home exam must be completed prior to the clinic.
Upon successful completion of the clinic, new officials then work two additional races as an apprentice. Upon satisfactory completion of these requirements, officials may be assigned to work races throughout the Midwest. For complete details and a job description, go to www.usatriathlon.org, then click on “Resources” and then scroll down to “For Officials” or follow this link: http://www.usatriathlon.org/pages/1510
Officials must be willing to ride as a passenger on a motorcycle and for reasons of safety, weigh less than 215 pounds. For an application or to refer a friend or family member, contact Lucy Harr, Midwest Regional Coordinator of Officials via email at email@example.com.
