Become a USA Triathlon Race Official: Clinics Available This Summer
If you have a strong sense of integrity and fair play, consider joining the USAT Officials Program. USAT officials help bring fairness to races by enforcing the competitive rules of USA Triathlon.
Two clinic/race practicums are on tap this summer:
The first is in conjunction with the Lifetime Fitness Tri in Minneapolis on July 11-12 and the second is at the Door County Tri in Egg Harbor, Wis., on July 19-20. Prospective officials attend an afternoon classroom session the day prior to the race, then help officiate on race day. A take-home exam must be completed prior to the clinic.
Upon successful completion of the clinic, new officials then work two additional races as an apprentice. Once satisfactorily completing these requirements, officials may be assigned to work races throughout the Midwest.

Officials must have good judgment, be willing to ride as a passenger on a motorcycle and for reasons of safety, weigh less than 215 pounds. For an application or to refer a friend or family member, contact Lucy Harr, Midwest Regional Coordinator of Officials at email@example.com.
