Permissible Strokes

(0 votes)

For those race directors who have been asked in the past by participants if the doggy paddle or any other stroke besides the freestyle can be used  during a sanctioned triathlon, they can refer athletes to Article 4.1 in the USAT Competitive Rules:

4.1 Permissible Strokes. Swimmers may use any stroke to propel themselves through the water and may tread water or float.
