Topic: Shifting Mental Gears For The Off Season
Presenter: Lisa Engles

If a triathlete appears to lack the necessary stamina towards the end of a race, an effective coach would observe this and design a training program to address this situation. Similarly, if psychological factors require attention, the intervention must be tailored to specific needs. However, where as stamina, or lack of it, can be directly observed, psychological factors are often hidden.

The off season is the perfect time for coaches to address those mental barriers that might interfere with their athletes performance in 2010. Certain mental skills will help your athletes reach great achievements, but they must be learned through systematic training, much in the same way as physical skills. The off season in a perfect time to begin integrating these skills into your clients program.

In this webinar you'll learn
- How to identify your athletes mental barriers
- How mindset can contribute to injury
- What science tells us about beliefs and their affect on performance
-Why it's so important to address thoughts and emotions
- How to get your athletes into the correct mindset for next season
-And much more!

Topic: Run/Walk Your Way to Faster Racing Times
Presenter: Bobby McGee

In a sport which consists of 3 back to back endurance events & where the most demanding of the 3 (running) comes last, it stands to reason that this is where most athletes will experience the greater challenge. The drop off from their stand alone open running times is normally far greater than it is for the bike. If there was a way in which run performance could be improved AND made easier, would not all triathletes come running with rapt attention? Well there is, but to the uninitiated & the all too cool, the option might be somewhat hard for the ego to stomach! Perhaps Bobby McGee's experience & success as a coach might be able to change your mind. All you have to lose is slower times off the bike. Join him for a webinar on the amazing performance benefits of the run/walk method of racing & training.

Topic: Excercise Addiction: Is your athlete dedicated or addicted?
Presenter: Abby Ruby

Exercise is almost always celebrated as a healthy endeavor, but there is a relatively common and largely unseen dark side to being a devoted athlete. All athletes experience it to some extent; in the guilty feelings when we miss a workout or anger a spouse, but we chalk it up to a "training" lifestyle. Exercise addiction - or the inability to rest, recover and balance exercise with other life demands - wreaks havoc both with an athlete's physical performance and with his or her quality of life. Exercise addiction ultimately leads to poor race performances, but the sad irony is that the impact on performance pales in comparison to the damage exercise addiction causes to an athlete's relationships, self-confidence, and self-esteem. This webinar will equip coaches with the tools necessary to evaluate the physiological progress of training, and the psychological parameters to identify exercise addiction.

Registration details will be posted shorlty.
