Women's Breakfast
Hey, Ladies! Come Enjoy the Free Women's Breakfast in Tuscaloosa
If you are a woman racing in the USAT Age Group National Championship in Tuscaloosa, Ala., please join the USAT Women's Commission for a FREE breakfast on Friday, Aug. 21, and a showing of Judy's Time, the multi award winning documentary of the life and 1997 death of USAT Hall of Famer Judy Flannery.
The event, held at the Hotel Capstone, will start promptly at 8 a.m. and finish before 9.
This breakfast offers all the women athletes the opportunity to enjoy good food and to meet each other and share stories about the multisport lifestyle. Any money that is raised from the breakfast goes to support women's clinics all over the country, to encourage more women to join this wonderful sport of triathlon.
Flannery, a national and world triathlon and duathlon champion, was 57 years old when she was struck by a car and killed on a training ride in 1997. She started the USAT Women's Commission, and the group continues her legacy to serve the needs of the female multisport athlete. Scholarships are given in her name to women who cannot afford to go to world or national championships, and the Spirit of Judy Flannery Award is presented at the Women's Breakfast at each triathlon national championship.
If you have already paid for the breakfast in advance, you will be reimbursed at the door.
Please reserve your spot today by emailing Jean McGuire at mcguire_jean@hotmail.com.
