The USAT Art and Science of Triathlon International Coaching Symposium will feature a dynamic lineup of international and national experts in triathlon.

Keynote Speakers include: Erik Weihenmayer, the only blind man to summit Mt. Everest, Johan Bruyneel, 2009 Tour de France Astana Team Manager and other featured guests to be announced.

Presenters include: Istvan Bayli, Vern Gambetta, Mark Allen, Joe Friel, Sage Rountree, Andy MacDonald and Alicia Kendig

Topics will include Athlete Development, Functional Path Training, Ironman Training, Developing a Training Plan, Youth Specific: Training, Appropriate Distances and Race Course Set-Up, Linking Coaches with Events and Race Directors, Business, Insurance, Nutrition, Coaching the Paratriathlete, Yoga for Triathletes and the latest research in swim, bike and run training.

Johan Bruyneel Keynote Presentation & Book Signing

USA Triathlon is proud to welcome Johan Bruyneel, 2009 Tour de France Astana Team Manager as a keynote speaker at the 2010 Art and Science of Triathlon International Coaching Symposium. Join us for Johan's keynote presentation on Friday February 12, 2010 from 3:00-5:00p.m. followed by a signing of his debut book "We Might As Well Win," which documents the philosophy behind the most successful coach in cycling history. The cost to attend the keynote presentation and book signing/reception is $55.00.

Erik Weihenmayer Keynote Presentation

On May 25, 2001, Erik became the only blind climber in history to reach the summit of the world's highest mountain, Mt. Everest, and in August of 2008, when he stood on the top of Carstenz Pyramid in Austral-Asia, he completed his quest to climb all of the Seven Summits - the tallest peaks on each of the seven continents.

In addition to being a world-class athlete, Erik is also the author of the best selling memoir, Touch the Top of the World, and The Adversity Advantage, Turning Everyday Struggles into Everyday Greatness.

Symposium Details
Price of the Symposium is $495.00 which includes 3 Broadmoor catered breakfasts, 3 lunches and an evening reception. All meals will be served at the Symposium site. The Symposium fee also includes entry to the Saturday morning fun run sponsored by Sweatvac.

This Symposium will feature breakout sessions as well as a vendor expo.

Cost of the Symposium goes up to $525.00 on January 1.

Schedule of Events
Check-in for the Symposium will be held on Thursday, February 11 from 4:00-6:00p.m. The Symposium will begin at 8:00a.m. on Friday, February 12 and conclude at 1:00p.m. on Sunday, February 14. Click here to view the complete schedule of events.

5K Fun Run/Walk
All Symposium attendees are encouraged to participate in the 5K Fun Run/Walk sponsored by Sweatvac on Saturday, February 13 at 6:30a.m. The 5K course will take you around the beautiful grounds of the Broadmoor Hotel.

USAT Hall of Fame Dinner
USA Triathlon is pleased to recognize Jim Curl, Carl Thomas, Valerie Silk, Barb Lindquist, and Paula Newby-Fraser as the second class in the USAT Hall of Fame.

The selection follows a long process that included nominations by the USAT membership and an rigorous screening process of the nominees. This year's inductees are being recognized across three categories: contributor, pre-1999 elite athletes, and post-2000 elite athlete.

The official induction will take place at a dinner on Saturday evening, February 13 as part of the Art and Science Symposium at the Broadmoor Resort.

Cost of the dinner is $40.00. Tickets may be purchased at this time in addition to the Art & Science registration and anyone is invited to attend. No refunds will be given for purchased tickets.

Tickets may be purchased at a later date based on availability if you choose not to purchase them at this time.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation after December 1, 2009 results in a $50 penalty.
Cancellation after January 1, 2010 results in a $150 penalty.
Cancellation after February 1, 2010 no refunds, no exceptions.

Accomodations
The host hotel for this event is the Broadmoor Hotel. A block of rooms has been reserved for attendees at a discounted rate. Click here for online reservations. Reservations must be made prior to January 19, 2010 in order to receive the discounted room rate.

Travel
Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is located approximately 10 miles from the Broadmoor Hotel.
Denver International Airport (DIA) is located approximately 95 miles from the Broadmoor Hotel.

Ground Transportation
The Broadmoor Hotel offers a $30 round trip shuttle service to and from the Colorado Springs airport to those attendees staying at the Broadmoor. Click here to schedule your shuttle service.
