Women’s Triathlon Clinic
For the 7th year in a row, USA Triathlon coaches are offering a 5 week clinic for women preparing for a triathlon. This clinic is geared towards the Ramblin' Rose Tri in Chapel Hill. Participants will have the opportunity to practice on the race course, get tips for efficient transitions, learn how to combine all 3 disciplines, and have fun! Along with practicing together once a week, women also receive a plan to follow for their other workouts.
This 5-week clinic held once per week starting in September, 2013. Each session will last 1.5hrs and is led by USAT Triathlon certified coaches, with other experienced triathletes serving as volunteers at the clinic. It is beginner specific and provides women with the tools and confidence to participate in other triathlon events. Other than meeting once a week for the clinic the women coordinate other workouts together and form relationships that have continued on throughout the season.
The first clinic is scheduled for introductions, review of basic information for a triathlon and a swim session. The next four clinics are spread out with practice on 2 sports and a mini-triathlon. Each class will also have a short classroom discussion covering equipment, nutrition, training, etc.
The Chapel Hill race was the original women’s Ramblin Rose and has now grown across North Carolina and has expanded into South Carolina, Tennessee and Ohio.
