Why should triathletes make it a point to race the St. Anthony's event?
For most this race is a destination race due to our warm climate in the month of April. It's known as the sport’s first major race of the triathlon season.
How big of an addition is the Florida Regional Championship to this event?
It' huge. With us being one of the first races of the season, it attracts triathletes from all over.
Is the Florida Regional Championship something you hope will continue to be a part of the event in the future?
Definitely. We enjoy hosting this event.
In addition to their races, what can competitors look forward to?
The race continues to attract a stellar field of professional and amateur athletes including Olympic gold medalists, Ironman world champions to the likes of Mirinda Carafrae and celebrity athletes.
How many competitors are you expecting in 2014?
Summarize what athletes can expect from the Olympic-distance course.
A very fast and scenic downtown St. Petersburg’s waterfront course.
What is one thing competitors don’t know about this event?
It is a three-day event that encompasses a two-day health and fitness expo, the Meek & Mighty Triathlon for youth and beginner adults on Saturday and the Olympic-distance race on Sunday with our inaugural sprint triathlon following the Olympic-distance.
