Club Insurance
General Liability Coverage
USAT highly recommends all USAT clubs to purchase the club insurance policies. The General Liability (GL) and sport accident policy covers your club members during all club calendared activities.
Whether you have a morning run, weekend bike ride or meeting, your members can be covered in the event of injury during these activities. If you purchased club GL and sport accident coverage in 2009 your policy expired on December 31, 2009. The new policy period runs January 1, 2010 – December 31, 2010. USAT has negotiated a prorated fee for 2010. If you purchase the policy after July 1, 2010 you will charged a prorated fee of 50% of the premium due for the remainder of the year (policy effective 7/1/10 - 12/31/10).
American Specialty Insurance & Risk Services, Inc. is pleased to offer official USAT clubs the opportunity to purchase, request and retrieve certificates of insurance 24 hours a day, seven days a week via this website. In addition, we have included other useful tools relating to policy information, claims handling and risk management. To view and apply for GL and sport accident coverage visit https://appsrv4.amerspec.com/pls/portal/TRIATHLON.ENTRANCE.show.
The premium for GL and sport accident coverage is $6/club member with a $250 minimum premium.

Important Message: USAT recommends that you explore securing Directors' & Officers' Liability for your individual Club. This coverage is often confused with General Liability or Business Liability Insurance, in spite of the coverage differences between the two policies.
As you may know, there exists potential personal liability against directors, officers, employees and volunteers of your non-profit organization for activities, responsibilities and decisions associated with your Club. Unlike General Liability insurance, Club Directors and Officers Coverage provides protection for your personal assets in the event you are held personally liable for any wrongful act, error or omission in your capacity as a director, officer, employee or volunteer. It also provides protection for Non-profit Clubs if named as a defendant in a lawsuit.
Our general observation is that many of our Clubs may not be properly insured for these potential exposures. In order to address this issue, our insurance broker, ESIX has negotiated a program that offers broad protection for this exposure at very competitive rates. We endorse and sponsor this program and have negotiated coverage that is customized for our local and regional organizations. An electronic platform has been created to make application and payment process easy and quick. Briefly, a $1 million limit of protection may be purchased by each individual non-profit Club to protect all directors, officers, employees and volunteers of that non-profit Club for $625 annually. Gross annual receipts must be under $1,000,000 and the club must have 5 or less employees. A $2,000,000 liability limit can be purchased for $925.
The policy effective date will be standardized with a common expiration date of 12/1/2010.
We highly encourage each Club to purchase this insurance protection. You can do so by accessing the web site and following the link entitled, "Club Directors and Officers Coverage" or by visiting http://www.fastcov.com/triathlon.
