COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Four athletes from across the country will bring the USA Triathlon Foundation to New York City this fall, taking on the 50th anniversary of the TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 1, while raising funds to support the Foundation’s mission of helping more people experience the life-changing power of sport.

As an Official Charity Partner of the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon, the USA Triathlon Foundation selected four athletes with connections to endurance sports and a shared belief in creating more opportunities for others to participate. Together, Gina Browne, Kathryn Murtagh, Caleb Prewitt, and Jordan Waxman will represent the Foundation as they take on the 26.2-mile course.

“Running the New York City Marathon is an incredible accomplishment on its own, but our athletes are taking on this challenge with a bigger purpose,” said Jason Rizzi, USA Triathlon Foundation Chief Development Officer. “We’re incredibly proud to have Jordan, Kathryn, Gina and Caleb representing the Foundation in New York.”

The money the athletes To date, athletes and their networks have raised over $45,000 for the Foundation, helping fuel programs and initiatives designed to give more young athletes the opportunity to discover triathlon, expand access and inclusion, and help athletes pursue their dreams at the highest levels.

For more than four decades, Gina Browne has had a goal of running a marathon from the starting line to the finish line, rather than as part of an IRONMAN. This November, she’ll finally check it off her list. A longtime endurance athlete, Browne has raced numerous IRONMAN 70.3 events, including the 70.3 World Championship every year since 2022, as well as the 2023 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona. After competing as a runner at Loyola Marymount University and completing her first triathlon at 19, Browne stepped away from racing for 20 years while building her career and raising her daughter, Katrina, before returning to endurance sports.

A longtime Los Angeles resident, she lives in Pacific Palisades with her mini-Golden retriever, Gemma and is the founder of Feldman Browne APC, a plaintiff’s side law firm. Browne first connected with the USA Triathlon Foundation after receiving an invitation from Audra Mallow to support LA28 Olympic hopefuls.

Kathryn Murtagh is no stranger to the TCS New York City Marathon. She first ran the race in 2015 and will return this November, giving her another chance to run through the city she considers her “U.S. home.” Originally from the United Kingdom, Murtagh has lived in the U.S. for 15 years. Murtagh has been a triathlete since moving to the U.S. and joined USA Triathlon at the end of 2014, combining her career as a lawyer with her passion for the sport.

Today, she serves as USA Triathlon’s General Counsel and has seen firsthand the impact the USA Triathlon Foundation has on the next generation of athletes. She believes sport, especially triathlon, can be life-changing for young people, whether it inspires them to pursue the sport at the highest level or simply gives them a lifelong community. Outside of work and endurance sports, Murtagh loves to travel, has visited all seven continents, and has recently taken up gravel and mountain biking. Some of her favorite marathons include Tokyo, Antarctica and Petra, Jordan. On race day, she’s looking forward to the finish line and the crowds along the course, especially in Manhattan.

Caleb Prewitt started his endurance sports journey at 13 during the pandemic and has since completed 54 triathlons, five half-marathons and two world major marathons in Chicago and London, making the TCS New York City Marathon his third. A longtime USA Triathlon Foundation Ambassador, Caleb has been part of the Foundation community since the beginning of his endurance career and has traveled to USA Triathlon events including USA Triathlon Nationals and Youth & Junior Nationals. Caleb, who has Down syndrome, is especially passionate about the Foundation’s “Access for All” mission and creating opportunities for athletes of all abilities to compete and show what they can do.

Outside of competition, Caleb is a student in his school’s Transition program, where he interns at different job sites, and he also runs his own cookie company. He lives with his parents and cat, Cocoa, is the youngest of four, and is a proud uncle.

Jordan Waxman has been part of the USA Triathlon community since 1999, when he raced his first New York City Triathlon. More than 25 years later, he’s still going strong, with eight IRONMAN finishes, two marathons and the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming among his endurance accomplishments. Outside of endurance sports, Waxman is a Managing Partner at a boutique wealth management firm, a lifelong musician and father of three.

He chose to run the TCS New York City Marathon with the Foundation because it brings together two things that are important to him: sport and philanthropy. As the parent of a neurodivergent child, Waxman is passionate about supporting organizations that foster inclusion and create opportunities for people of all abilities. Waxman is no stranger to running in Central Park and is looking forward to experiencing one of his favorite places in a new way. Of the five boroughs, he’s most excited to run through Manhattan.

For the USA Triathlon Foundation team, race day will be the culmination of months of training and fundraising, but the impact of their miles will continue long after they cross the finish line in Central Park.
