7 USA TRI Athletes Compete at FISU World University Championship Triathlon in Nyon, Switzerland

NYON, Switzerland — Seven U.S. collegiate triathletes represented Team USA at the FISU World University Championship Triathlon, held Aug. 8-9 in Nyon, Switzerland. Organized in collaboration with Swiss University Sports, the championship brought together student-athletes from around the world to compete at the highest level of university triathlon, celebrating the FISU values of excellence, passion, and friendship alongside academic and cultural diversity.

Racing in the elite women and elite men fields on Aug. 8, the U.S. contingent tested itself against an international field, with Germany, France and Hungary leading the way on both the men's and women's podiums. U.S. Olympian Nick Radkewich (head coach of Wingate University) and Amy Maxwell (head coach of the West Point triathlon team) served as coaches for the U.S. team. 

Several U.S. athletes who raced in Switzerland are members of the USA TRI Mallow U25 Development Team. The USA TRI Mallow U25 Development Team supports emerging elite athletes, primarily ages 14–25, as they gain experience at domestic and international competitions — like the FISU World University Championship Triathlon — and continue progressing within the Olympic development pipeline. 

Funded by longtime triathletes and USA Triathlon Foundation donors Audra and Michael Mallow, the USA TRI Mallow U25 Development Team provides support for travel expenses, racing and training equipment, personal coaching stipends, and access to USA Triathlon training camps. 

Elite Men's Race

Germany's Benedikt Bettin won the men's title in 55 minutes, 11 seconds, with countryman Jan Scheffold taking second in 55:23. Hungary's Gergő Dobi rounded out the podium in 55:38.

U.S. Men’s Results

• Jake Adler, University of Arizona,— 28th, 57:04
• Rohan Takkar, Queens University of Charlotte, — 44th, 59:36

Lamprecht competes for the Wingate University collegiate club triathlon team. He won the men’s draft legal national title this spring at the 2026 USA Triathlon Collegiate Club National Championships, and finished second in the men’s Olympic Distance National Championship.

Elite Women's Race

Hungary's Dominika Peszleg claimed the individual title in 1:01:57, edging France's Elena Polaert by a single second (1:01:58) after the two swapped the lead across the bike and run legs. Appoline Foltz of France crossed in 1:01:59 to round out the top three.

Pardy is an NCAA triathlete at the University of Arizona, where she was a member of Arizona’s 2025 NCAA Division I national championship-winning team. The silver medalist at the 2025 USA Triathlon Junior National Championships, Pardy represented the U.S. at the 2025 Junior World Championships in Wollongong, Australia.  

Mixed Relay Race 

Team Germany won the Triathlon Mixed Relay title, just edging out Belgium by 1 second in a sprint finish, with a time of 1:19:47. Great Britain placed third in 1:20:04. 

The U.S. team of Pardy, Adler, Poole and Lamprecht placed 10th.
