USA TRI Paratriathletes Earn Five Medals at 2026 World Triathlon Para Series Hamburg

HAMBURG, Germany — USA TRI Elite Paratriathletes earned five medals, including one gold, in Hamburg at the 2026 World Triathlon Para Series Hamburg on Sunday, July 12, the final stop of the 2026 Series and the event's first-ever Para Series appearance at the iconic venue in Hamburg.
Grace Norman (Bloomington, Ind.), Kendall Gretsch (Downer's Grove, Ill.), Emelia Perry (Philadelphia, Pa.), Hailey Danz (Denver, Colo.), and Hannah Longmire (Coralville, Iowa) each reached the podium to lead the U.S. contingent in Hamburg.
Norman, the Paris 2024 Paralympic gold medalist, posted the field's fastest swim split and was never seriously challenged in the women's PTS5 race, cruising to victory in 1 hour, 3 minutes, 42 seconds for her third straight Series win of the 2026 season following triumphs in Yokohama and Montreal. She has not lost a race since the 2021 season.
Gretsch, the Paris 2024 Paralympic silver medalist, and Perry went second and third, respectively, behind Australia's Lauren Parker in the PTWC women's race, with Gretsch earning silver in 1:04:11 and Perry taking bronze in 1:04:56.
Danz, the Paris 2024 Paralympic gold medalist in the PTS2 classification, claimed bronze on Sunday in Hamburg in 1:22:06, finishing behind Australia's Anu Francis and Japan's Asumi Yasuda.
Longmire earned her second podium finish of the season, taking bronze in the PTS3 women's race in 1:34:51 behind Italy's Serena Banzato and France's Elise Marc.
On the men's side, Chris Hammer (Gilbert, Ariz.) finished fifth in the PTS5 race in 59:13, and Howie Sanborn (Denver, Colo.) placed seventh in the PTWC race in 1:03:32.
Michelle Dynes (Waukon, Iowa) was sixth in the PTS5 women's race in 1:18:22.
The 2026 World Triathlon Para Series concludes with the World Triathlon Para Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, Sept. 25-27.
USA TRI paratriathletes will race domestically at the USA Paratriathlon National Championships Aug. 9 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at USA Triathlon Nationals.
