USA TRI Paratriathletes Race in Montreal for Third Stop of 2026 World Triathlon Para Series

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The 2026 World Triathlon Para Series continues this Saturday, June 27, as 20 U.S. paratriathletes and guides race in Montreal at the World Triathlon Para Series Montreal, the third of four stops on the 2026 Para Series circuit. The event takes place at Parc Jean-Drapeau, where athletes will race a sprint-distance course of a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike, and 5-kilometer run.
Montreal follows a dominant U.S. showing at the season's second stop in Yokohama, where USA TRI paratrithletes won seven medals, including four golds. Following Montreal, the 2026 World Triathlon Para Series continues in Hamburg (July 11–12) before the World Triathlon Para Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, in September.
U.S. ATHLETES TO WATCH
USA TRI National Team member Grace Norman headlines the women's PTS5 field after a commanding gold in Yokohama, where she finished more than 4 minutes ahead of second place. The Paris 2024 gold medalist is joined in the class by Michelle Dynes.
In the women's PTVI classification, McClain Hermes, guided by Jenna Haufler, returns following her first career World Triathlon Para Series win in Yokohama. Fellow PTVI athlete Taylor Talbot, guided by Megan Foley, earned her first career Para Series medal — a bronze — at the same event.
The women's PTWC class features two-time Paralympic medalist Kendall Gretsch, racing alongside Emelia Perry, who took silver in Yokohama. The women's field also includes Hannah Longmire (PTS3), Danielle Cummings (PTS4), and Paris 2024 Paraympian Emma Meyers (PTS4).
On the men's side, Paris 2024 Paralympic gold medalist and 2025 world champion Chris Hammer leads the U.S. in the PTS5 race. Paris 2024 bronze medalist Mark Barr returns to the PTS2 class after winning gold in Yokohama, joined by teammate Kyle Stepp. Paris 2024 Paralympian Howie Sanborn races in the men's PTWC, just two weeks after racing IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman, while Paris 2024 Paralympic silver medalist Carson Clough competes in the men's PTS4 race.
Paris 2024 Paralympian Owen Cravens, guided by Tokyo 2020 Olympic medalist Kevin McDowell, races in the men's PTVI class. The men's field also features Zachary Osborne and Lucas Jundt in the PTS3 classification.
