USA TRI Paratriathletes Earn 11 Medals at 2026 World Triathlon Para Series Montreal on June 27

MONTREAL — USA TRI Paratriathletes earned eleven medals, including four golds, in Montreal at the 2026 World Triathlon Para Series Montreal on Saturday, June 27, the third stop of the Series. 

USA TRI National Team members Chris Hammer (Gilbert, Ariz.), Grace Norman (Bloomington, Ind.) and Kendall Gretsch (Downers Grove, Ill.), along with USA TRI Development Team member Danielle Cummings (Albuquerque, N.M.), each captured gold to lead the U.S. contingent in Montreal. The victory marked Cummings' first career gold medal at either a World Triathlon Para Series or Para Cup event.

Hammer and Norman, who swept the PTS5 titles at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, dominated the sprint-distance race, consisting of a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run. Hammer won the men's race in 57:59, while Norman claimed the women's title in 1:04:50. 

Gretsch earned the PTWC women's victory in dramatic fashion, edging Brazil's Jessica Ferreira in a sprint finish at the line, 1:03:32.29 to 1:03:32.80. Cummings added another gold for Team USA, taking the PTS4 women's title in 1:14:37. 

Paris Paralympian Howie Sanborn (Denver, Colo.) finished second in the PTWC men's race in 1:01:47, while USA TRI National Team member Mark Barr (Davis, Calif.) earned silver in the PTS2 men's race with a time of 1:08:42. 

USA TRI Development Team members Hannah Longmire (Coralville, Iowa) and Emma Meyers (Pensacola, Fla.) added runner-up finishes in the PTS3 and PTS4 women's races, crossing the line in 1:35:00 and 1:23:21, respectively. 

USA TRI National Team member Owen Cravens (Boulder, Colo.), guided by Olympian Kevin McDowell, placed third in the PTVI men's race in 59:27. 

Emi Perry (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished third in the PTWC women's race in 1:04:06, while McClain Hermes (Dacula, Ga.), guided by Jenna Haufler, earned bronze in the PTVI women's race in 1:06:07 after claiming her first World Triathlon Para Series victory earlier this season in Yokohama. 

The 2026 World Triathlon Para Series continues in Hamburg (July 11–12) before the World Triathlon Para Championships in Pontevedra, Spain, in September.
