Personal
Braxton Legg is the newest addition to the USA TRI National Team after earning his spot at the World Triathlon Championship Series Yokohama on May 16, shortly after turning 21 in March. A rising talent, Legg previously competed as a member of the USA TRI Mallow U25 Development Team before making the jump to the senior national squad.
Originally from Tampa, Florida, Legg was introduced to triathlon at an early age and has been hooked on the sport ever since. He completed his first triathlon at just six years old, winning the race while his parents ran alongside him during the bike and run portions, a memory that still stands out as the spark that started it all. Now based in Tempe, Arizona, Legg trains full-time under Parker Spencer while continuing his education through online coursework at Arizona State University. Before fully committing to triathlon, he spent one year at the University of Florida competing in track and cross country for the Gators.
Legg has quickly built an impressive résumé on the international stage, with multiple top-10 Continental and World Cup finishes. In 2025, he claimed two gold medals at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, winning both the men's individual title and as part of the mixed relay.
Outside of triathlon, Legg has an athletic background that extends well beyond swim, bike, and run. From ages 7 to 16, he trained in both martial arts and gymnastics, building the coordination, discipline, and athleticism that continue to shape him as an elite competitor today.
Legg comes from a close-knit family, including his parents, Pamela and Keith, his brother Reed, and the family pug, Elly.
