COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - More than 130 female and male professional athletes will line up in Marbella, Spain, on Nov. 8-9, for the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships, including U.S. Elite Triathlon National Team member, Taylor Knibb, who is aiming for her fourth IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship title in a row.

A two-time Olympic medalist in the Mixed Relay, Knibb would be the first athlete to win four consecutive IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship titles. She faces competition from 2023 IRONMAN World Champion, Lucy Charles-Barclay (GBR) and Kat Matthews, who has finished second to Knibb at the 70.3 World Championships the past two years.

Fellow U.S. elite triathletes, Jackie Hering and Danielle Lewis — both sitting in the top 10 in the IRONMAN Pro Series — will race, aiming to improve their standings.

The elite field also includes fellow IRONMAN World Champion Laura Philipp (DEU), Paula Findlay (CAN), Ellie Salthouse (AUS), Caroline Pohle (DEU), and Grace Thek (AUS). British Olympic gold medalists Georgia Taylor-Brown and Jess Learmonth will make their IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship debuts. The women race on Saturday, Nov. 8, while the men race on Sunday, Nov. 9.

In the men’s race, three U.S. Olympians will race, including Paris 2024 Olympic Mixed Relay silver medalist Seth Rider, Tokyo 2020 Olympic Mixed Relay silver medalist Kevin McDowell and 2016 Olympian Ben Kanute, who placed second at the 2017 and 2022 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championships.

The top ranked U.S. elite athlete is Rudy Von Berg, who is ranked ninth in the IRONMAN Pro Series. The man to beat is defending champion Jelle Geens (BEL), who returns to face a stacked field featuring past champions Rico Bogen (DEU), Kristian Blummenfelt (NOR), and Gustav Iden (NOR).

The swim course starts and finishes in the Mediterranean Sea at the Levante Beach. Athletes will complete a 1.2-mile swim before transitioning to a hilly 56-mile bike course with a net elevation gain of 5,857 feet. Athletes will finish with a two-loop, 13.1-mile run along the Marbella Promenade, before finishing on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea.

Live race day coverage will be broadcasted for free across multiple platforms for global viewers, including proseries.ironman.com, DAZN, YouTube, Outside TV (exclusive to viewers in the U.S. and Canada), RTVE Play in Spain and many more across the world.
