USA Triathlon is governed by a Board of Directors, which has general charge of the organization's business affairs, activities and policies. Four of the Board's members shall be Athlete Directors, four General Directors and four Independent Directors.

USA Triathlon is committed to transparency in its governance matters, business affairs and organizational activities. Additionally, USA Triathlon and the Board of Directors are dedicated to fostering an environment that encourages feedback and commentary from the multisport community and in particular, its annual members [which are the foundation of USA Triathlon]. Engaged membership is vital in continuing to move the organization, community, and sport forward. Following USA Triathlon’s Board of Director’s recent board meeting, we have proposed changes to various Sections of our Bylaws.

USA Triathlon annual elections are conducted in accordance with the USA Triathlon Election Policy. Complete details on the nomination process, candidate platforms, and other items up for vote on the ballot are documented each year.

The USA Triathlon financial statements have been posted to help our membership understand the financial activities of the organization. The financial statements posted are two-year comparison statements that include the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Activities and Net Changes. Also included are the USA Triathlon Form 990 Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax. The returns are submitted to the Internal Revenue Service on an annual basis.
