Open Positions
Two (2) General Director positions are open for election. The terms for both positions will begin in January 2026 and will run for two years.
Please submit nominations to USA Triathlon. Your nomination document should include the following (a template submission form is provided below):
- The name, address, contact number, e-mail address and annual membership number of the nominee (if you are not yet a member of USA Triathlon, please confirm that you will join before your appointment).
- Statement that the nominee is a US citizen and 18 years old or older.
- A written description of the nominee, their platform and how they would be a good candidate for the Board or the AAC, as applicable.

If the submission does not include all of the above, it may be rejected by USA Triathlon in its sole discretion.
Important Dates and Deadlines
The Call for Nominations is open between June 9, 2025 and July 9, 2025. Please ensure your nomination(s) are submitted during this period; late submissions cannot be considered.
Following the closure of the Call for Nominations, candidates for this role will be evaluated by the Nominating and Governing Committee (NGC). The NGC will screen and may conduct interviews of the most qualified candidates and recommend up to three candidates for each available Board seat, with a vote conducted by the USA Triathlon membership, as outlined in the election policy, to confirm the new General Directors. Election ballots will be open for 30 days and candidate details will be posted on USA Triathlon’s website. USA Triathlon will publish the results as soon as possible after the ballot closing date, anticipated to be in October 2025.
Minimum Nomination Requirements
Safety and ethics are of paramount importance at USA Triathlon and among the Board of Directors. To that end, all candidates for the USA Triathlon Board must meet the following:
Candidate Eligibility
To be eligible to serve as a General Director, you must:
- be a USA Triathlon member in good standing or be eligible to be a USA Triathlon member,
- be a citizen of the United States, and
- be eighteen (18) years of age or older.

Each General Director will also need to pass a background check, have no record of SafeSport violations, complete SafeSport education and training and ensure they have no conflicts of interests that could prevent them from serving.
