2025 State Championships
Race local and race for a state title at USA Triathlon State Championships! Organized by local USA Triathlon Race Directors, State Championships bring together your local multisport community and offer you the chance to race against the best athletes in your state and region. Also, race a State Championship and qualify for USA Triathlon Sprint and Olympic-Distance National Championships!
All State Championships include a non-drafting sprint and Olympic-distance triathlon as well as a high school division in the sprint or super-sprint race. Many State Championships also offer aquathlon (swim-run), aquabike (swim-bike) and/or duathlon (run-bike-run) races, so bring a friend and introduce them to multisport
State championships qualify the top 35% or top five (5) finishers in an age group (whichever is greater). You may only qualify for Olympic-distance Nationals by placing in the Olympic distance State Championship race or Sprint Nationals by placing in the sprint distance State Championship race.
Any State Championships after June 1, 2025 will qualify for BOTH 2025 AND 2026 USA Triathlon Sprint and Olympic Distance National Championships. The qualification criteria for 2026 USA Triathlon Sprint and Olympic Distance National Championships is subject to change from what it is for 2025. Athletes do not have to be a resident of a state to win that state's championship. Any age group athlete competing in an age group division is eligible to win any State Championship.
All State Championships also serve as the Club State Championships for age group and high school clubs. Club members around the country are encouraged to race at their local State Championship to earn the designation of top club in the state and win a Club State Champion banner from USA Triathlon!
