USAT Foundation Launches Elevate28 Campaign With $1M Gift from Michael and Audra Mallow
The USA Triathlon Foundation announced a $1M Mallow gift to launch Elevate28, a $28M campaign through LA28 and beyond.
An investment in the USA Triathlon Foundation is an investment in our community, sport and future.
As the charitable arm of USA Triathlon, the USA Triathlon Foundation supports grants and programs that advance three philanthropic priorities: encouraging youth participation, inspiring pathways to access and inclusion, and igniting Olympic and Paralympic dreams.
Every child should have the opportunity to be active and experience the joys of swim-bike-run. Funding toward this priority helps develop and cultivate youth-centric coaches, clubs and events around the United States to enable kids to practice and train in camps, and participate and race with each other.
Everyone should have the support and ability to participate, grow and excel in triathlon and multisport. Funding toward this priority delivers resources for Together We Thrive – USA Triathlon’s diversity, equity, inclusion and access initiative.
Every aspiring elite athlete and elite paratriathlete should have the opportunity to realize their potential and represent the United States on the world stage. Funding toward this priority enables the United States to achieve unprecedented global triumphs by building sustained success at the sport’s highest level and helping athletes reach their performance goals.
We're dedicated to inspiring the next generation of athletes through our flagship youth program, USA Kids Tri. Designed to introduce young participants to the thrill of multisport and promote healthy, active lifestyles, USA Kids Tri is making a tangible impact in communities across the nation.
With the generous support of donors like you, we've been able to launch USA Kids Tri programs in key geographic locations, with the most recent youth race event located in Phoenix, Arizona. Through these grassroots initiatives, we're providing children with the opportunity to discover the joy of swimming, cycling, and running in a fun and supportive environment.
Twenty-two athletes ran, biked, and swam their way to the finish line at the 2025 USA Triathlon Multisport National Championships in Omaha — and for every single one of them, it was their first triathlon ever. They were part of the USA Triathlon Inclusion Experience, the USA Triathlon Foundation-funded program designed to open the doors of multisport racing to beginners through financial support, training plans, expert coaching, and community. Following the success, the program is set to expand to five races nationwide in 2026 with selected athletes receiving a free race entry, a USA Triathlon annual membership, training plans, coaching, and mentorship.
The USA Triathlon Foundation announced a $1 million gift from longtime athletes and donors Michael and Audra Mallow in support of the newly launched Elevate28 campaign, a bold initiative to raise $28 million through 2029 to elevate the sport of triathlon nationwide in the lead-up to and following the LA28 Olympic & Paralympic Games. The gift was revealed at the Elevate28 kickoff event on Jan. 17 in Venice Beach, California — the competition location for triathlon at the LA2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games — in front of major donors, U.S. elite athletes and fans.
